The Belgian was majorly instrumental in Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over the Villans yesterday as he was spotted bumping his knee in one of his celebrations
Chelsea drifted past Aston Villa in a 3-0 show with both Romelu Lukaku and Mateo Kovacic booking spots on the score sheet.
Romelu Lukaku opened the scoreline from a Mateo Kovacic assist after the Croatian stormed through from Chelsea’s box to push for an attack that ended up having Lukaku come through as a goal scorer.
Kovacic extending the lead before Azpilicueta found Lukaku who managed to curve far wide into Emi Martinez’s goal post from right into the 18-yard-box.
The joy for a brace prompted the 28-year-old into racing towards the corner spot attempting to slide on his knees just like Chelsea Legend, Didier Drogba does.
Sadly for him, he had missed to begin the slid properly as he instead bumped on his knees before landing on the floor.
Probably the occurrence wasn’t much noticed by the fans and his teammates who were all filled with joy that their new number 9 who made an epic come back is finally living the dreams at Stamford Bridge.
In reaction to the incident, Lukaku has shared he won’t be sliding during his celebrations anymore in order to prevent getting injured.
Stating on his Instagram page, Lukaku said; ‘No more sliding on my knees after yesterday’s celebration.’
Lukaku since his come back to Chelsea has managed 3 goals in 3 games for Chelsea.
