The Spaniard joined Chelsea late on the last day of the transfer window
Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez will remain with Chelsea for the rest of the season after completing a season long loan trip to West London.
Having paid a €5m fee for the 26-year-old Chelsea have immediately added Niguez to their squad and will soon begin training with the rest of the squad.
Saul’s trip to Chelsea has included with an option for Chelsea to make his stay permanent after the season long loan.
On his arrival, Saul has been handed the number 17 number which was recently made vacant by Mateo Kovacic.

Kovacic recently switched to number 8, leaving the number 17 jersey.
The 17 has been number worn by legends in Chelsea history down the line, Ballack, Bosingwa and so on.
Saul also did confirm on Twitch that he has been given this particular jersey number.
Saul will hope to make a debut when Chelsea return from international break.
