Chelsea battle Sevilla tomorrow as they look to continue campaign into the knockout stages
Blues Manager, Frank Lampard is hoping to extend his unbeaten run and could possibly have been handed a boost with the current reports.
Its disclosed that Sevilla boss, Lopetegui says Ocampos and De Jong are doubtful for tomorrow’s game with Chelsea due to muscle injuries.
Unlike a ‘fully’ fit Blues squad who will be also staring Callum Hudson-Odoi after the English man missed out on his side’s 0-0 draw with Spurs during the weekend.
Speaking on Hudson-Odoi’s subtraction from the squad that battled Tottenham, Lampard said;
“It was difficult. I have been really pleased with his training at the minute. His training and attitude was spot on. It is tough to leave players out. I did speak to him personally & understand where his progression is at with me”
We also could be seeing Billy Gilmour get a chance against Sevilla as Lampard assured the young Midfielder is in the squad against the Spanish side.
Lampard on rotations for Sevilla: “Yes, I will have to do it for different reasons. Some players have played a lot.”
“Also, players who aren’t playing so regularly are training really well, knocking on the door and deserve to play. I don’t expect a drop in level.”
Blues are 10 points at the top of the group E leading second placed Sevilla with goal difference, a loss could see Blues qualifying second as both sides share same points.
