Arsenal defender, Shkodran Mustafi will be absent during the FA Cup final against Chelsea after limping off with injury last weekend.
Shkodran Mustafi will have to contribute to the Gunners squad from the bench as he won’t be taking part in the game due to a hamstring injury.
The former Valencia man had to leave the pitch during the late minutes of their clash against Manchester City in the semis and after that did miss the Aston Villa game as he wasn’t fully accessed then.
Having rediscovered his form under Mikel Arteta after falling out of favor under the former manager; Unai Emery, Mustafi has become a solid part of team’s defense and an absence would be felt in such a crucial game.Embed from Getty Images
Mustafi has started nine of Arsenal’s last 10 matches before the City clash and was replaced by former Bolton player, Rob Holding who was featured in his placed during the Aston Villa game.
It’s crystal clear Rob Holding will continue to fill the gap when Gunners battle Watford on the EPL final day, despite the team having lost the preceding match against the Villians. Same applies for the FA Cup final.
Good news from the team also as goalkeeper Bernd Leno has recovered fully and will resume training with the squad next week after a knee injury saw him sidelined since June 20th following his collision with Brighton’s Neal Maupay.
According the club medical team, Leno’s injury wasn’t as bad as feared and after proper tests where carried on, it was expected that Leno would return in weeks just as he has done.
Meanwhile, its still uncertain if he will get to guard the post during the FA Cup final against Chelsea as Emiliano Martinez has done great in his absence.
