Chelsea already have Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante for the center role, which has made it difficult to fit in the youngster.
Leaving on loan could be the only way to help boost his career while preparing for his Chelsea future.
But sources are already disclosing that Gilmour’s hope for the new season doesn’t depend on him alone as Mateo Kovacic has a role to play.
It’s believed that should Kovacic decide to remain with in West London then Gilmour would be leaving on loan.
Kovacic is yet to see out his Chelsea contract which is still to run until 2024 and only pushing for exit deals could see this happen now.
Or Chelsea receiving offers for him and decide to let go but currently nothing has been talked of about Kovacic leaving the squad.
