Silva was sent off at the 26th minute making him the oldest Chelsea player to have been shown the red card since John Terry’s
West Bromwich Albion smiled out of Stamford Bridge with all three points and stunning 5 goals against a Chelsea side who barely concede goals.
Chelsea’s loss was of course due to the side’s lack of defensive consciousness as Silva‘s red card opened the side up for demolision.
Worst thing happening was the Blues were trashed by a club that is struggling to leave relegation zone and have lost most of their games this season.
Following the issues that resulted to Silva being sent off, Tuchel said; ‘I didn’t see the red card, I saw the two big mistakes in our own half before the yellow cards.
‘That is not typical for us, we were rusty. We made easy mistakes and were punished. It was totally our fault.’

He added: ‘We did big mistakes before the two yellow cards. There were too many easy ball losses.’
It’s vivid Tuchel was pointing to Jorginho‘s two big errors that came before the Red card.
Chelsea’s performance became unbearable to watch after they were reduced to 10 men but Tuchel believes his boys will have to adapt to such surprising situations so as not to repeat the mistakes made earlier today.
‘I did not see that second half coming. We tried to give a bit of security with a back three but we were never in a flow. We had some chances but we didn’t defend well.
‘We could not adapt to the situation which is a surprise as we were leading. We are normally confident enough to defend but we were sloppy and kept making big mistakes. We were punished hard and it’s tough to digest.
‘Every shot was a goal from them. Clearly it was not our day today. We will get the right response. First of all it’s important we digest it. I did not see it coming, now we have to take our responsibilities – me included – and shake it off.’
