Arsenal are in the transfer market searching for attacking midfielders as Real Madrid is set to make a big decision over Martin Odegaard’s future.
Martin Ødegaard joined Arsenal during the January transfer window and have quickly adapted to life at North London scoring two goals and registering 66 shot-creating actions across 20 games.
The Norway captain have now cemented his place in Mikel Arteta’s heart as the Spainiard is keen on signing him[Ødegaard] permanently, but Real Madrid could be about to hand the Gunners a huge blow.
According to reports, Martin Odegaard, who is Arsenal’s number one target is set for contract talks with Real Madrid this summer after the appointment of Ancelloti as head coach.
The Norwegian was impressed with Mikel Arteta’s project and have admitted to be open to making the loan move a permanent one in the summer.
However, the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as Madrid head coach may have a major impact on Odegaard’s future in the Spanish capital.
Odegaard was allowed to leave on loan by Zidane due to lack of playing time which saw him leave the Bernabeu to come to England.
Carlo Ancelotti is now hoping to tie Odegaard down to a new contract and is expected to give the Norway captain a chance to show his skills.
This will come as a huge transfer blow to Arsenal, but it is still no guarantee that a permanent move for Odegaard is no longer on the cards.
