The former Man United forward has heaped praises on N’Golo Kante’s superb talents
Rooney believes Kante is the most complete midfielder he has ever seen in the history of football.
The 35-year-old stated Kante embodies both Yaya Toure and Claude Makelele’s trait in him.
Kante played a vital role in Chelsea’s UCL trophy as he was three times back to back Man of the Match.

The Frenchman having also been picked by many as favorite to be named Ballon d’Or winner has seen himself lauded praises by former Man United player, Wayne Rooney.
The English man not minding he spent his playing days rivaling N’Golo Kante’s current team has expressed excitement over the former Leicester City man.
Kante joined Chelsea from King Power stadium back in 2016 and has so far made 157 league appearances for the West Londoners.
“You used to see it with Yaya Toure, how he would get the ball and burst forward with it and it is so hard to defend against,” Rooney said while explaining the superb talents of N’Golo Kante.
“Kante does all that but also protects his defence like Claude Makelele once did – only better.
“It’s unbelievable to have a footballer who is Toure and Makelele rolled into one — and then there’s Kante’s energy.
“At Chelsea, you see his energy bringing a lot out of the other players.
“Whenever Kante bursts forward you’ll see two or three of them bursting forward too, not worried about leaving their positions because he’s going to get back in shape and break up the counter-attack.
“For me he is the best midfielder in the world.”
