Arsenal defender William Saliba could still remain in London as Gunners keep pushing for a loan deal.
The 19-year-old is yet to break into Arsenal starting team since his return from France.
Having been on loan to the League 1 side, Mikel Arteta opted to having the young defender back at Emirates Stadium as he also landed Brazilian Gabriel Magalhaes.
Although with Magalhaes already a pillar in Gunners’ defense now, Saliba is considered a man for tomorrow use.
Coupled with the fact that the team have been unable to get the old guys out due to clubs suffering financially because of the pandemic.
Arsenal clearly made efforts to negotiate but no move could materialize, even for Rob Holding who served as a good alternative when Luiz was injured.
In order to keep Saliba relevant, Arsenal believe opting for a loan will do better.
But the transfer widow is shut now, just the loan to local leagues is the only escape route to a bench-prone wonder-defender.
The North London side are looking at Championship football for Saliba but yet to determine a better team where he could always be in the starting line up.
Brentford on the other hand have been a major bidder for Saliba and it looks likely he might be taking the walk.
Playing with Brentford will as well help Saliba learn English football as he would always start for Thomas Frank side.
But as it stands currently, Arsenal are yet to decide the team for Saliba with the transfer window set to shut totally soon.
