The Swedish believes AC Milan need players with qualities similar to that of the outgoing Chelsea man.
The Frenchman made the switch from the rival side back in 2018 and following Chelsea’s UCL victory, Giroud is confident he has achieved his targets in the Blues shirt.
With links pointing to Italian side, AC Milan, Giroud is more likely to be heading for Serie A football.
Giroud initially turned downed offers from Premier League sides including West Ham United as remained keen on playing in other leagues outside of London.
With his transfer in the pipeline now as he has been revealed already in talks on a move to San Siro, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has disclosed he views Giroud’s arrival as a super plus to his side.
Zlatan returned to the Rossoneri back in 2020 after a move that seemed like a career-ending route when he joined American league with LA Galaxy where he managed 52 goals in 54 appearances.
Speaking on Olivier Giroud’s possible arrival, the 39-year-old said; “I’d be happy if Olivier Giroud joins AC Milan, we need players like him – he’s a winner”
Giroud netted 17 goals in his 75 league appearances for Chelsea after his arrival from Arsenal where he tallied 73 league goals in 180 league appearances.
AC Milan are also lining up deal to make Chelsea’s loanee become a permanent member of their squad but Chelsea aren’t agreeing with the Italians yet on Fikayo Tomori‘s price tag.
Meanwhile, Donnarumma is finally leaving Milan after a long spell and Chelsea are also linked to a possible move.
Zlatan also added his views on the 22-year-old who has been with Milan since 2015 and made 215 league appearances for the side.
“Donnarumma as a free agent? He’s the best goalkeeper in the world, trust me; he could have been the new Paolo Maldini at Milan.
